On Saturday 8th of April, over 100 Love to Dance participants had the opportunity to perform pitch-side at Wembley Stadium before the Saracens vs Harlequins match in front of thousands of people.
The match, which is a huge event in the Rugby Union calendar, attracted more than 70,000 people at the impressive Wembley Stadium. Amongst the entertainment on the day, there were performances from X-Factor winner Louisa Johnson, school children from across Hertfordshire and North London, as well as the fantastic Love to Dance participants.
Love to Dance is a 50+ community dance programme delivered by Saracens Sport Foundation and supported by Herts Sports Partnership across Hertfordshire and North London. It has been running for 6 years, and is now established in more than 15 locations.
Dancers from across Herts and North London learnt an uplifting routine in preparation for this amazing showcase opportunity, and the smiles on their faces during the performance was proof enough of their enjoyment. Feedback from participants on the day was excellent; “What a brilliant time I had yesterday! It was a fantastic event and clearly involved a great deal of work, planning and organising everything to ensure smooth running on the day”.
